Our Rebate Process

We want to make our process as easy and quick as possible.

The rebate process is just a couple of steps:

We like to think of our process in two parts:

Part 1:

  1. Submit Pre-Project Application
  2. Receive Project Approval notice from LGC staff prior to starting your project.
  3. Complete your project within 3 months.

Part 2:

  1. Submit your Completion Package.
  2. Receive Rebate Approval Notice from LGC staff.
  3. LGC staff invoices DWR for your rebate.

NOTE: Do not start your upgrade prior to receiving project approval from LGC staff by email or mail.

Here is our process in more detail:

You submit your rebate application online (or send us a hard copy of your application by mail). This is how we check if if you are eligible for the rebate, your project plans, and register you in our rebate system. In our application, you will need to be prepared to share and upload the following:

  • Basic information, such as your name, email, address, and water utility.
  • “Before” photographs of your yard showing the area where your lawn will be removed. These must include an identifying feature, such as your street address. We ask for 3-5 photos.
  • Rebate Program Affidavit, in which we outline our requirements for the rebate program. We ask that you sign this form showing that you understand these requirements.
  • Water Data Release Form, which we ask you to sign instead of sending your water bill. This way, we can ask your water provider directly what your water usage is.
  • Photo/Video Release Form. With your permission, we would like to share pictures of updated landscapes on our website. This is optional.

Complete the online pre-project application, or mail us a hard copy.
